Product Guides > Spanner Rating - Cruise Control Difficulty Rating

Wed, Dec 3rd 2014

Conrad Anderson is rolling out a difficulty rating for each of the 600+ cruise control solutions, the installation is broken down into Physical accessibility, Electrical accessibility and Setup. These are then graded with the Spanner rating of 1 to 5. The grades are described below.

Difficulty Rating explained

Physical - this gives an idea of the physical accessibility of the vehicle for installing cruise control - higher numbers of stars could mean:

  • the vehicle trim is tricky to remove
  • General access to the dash board is difficult - vehicle without a drivers door,
  • Vehicle trim is very small and the access is like working through a letterbox
  • Sharp edges to skin your knuckles
  • Multiple parts of the dash board to work in, more trim to remove

Electrical

  • Offers an idea of the complexity of the installation and the connections to be made.

Setup

  • Offers an idea of the setup complexity - since Conrad Anderson pre-program the cruise control to the vehicle before delivery, the vast majority of vehicles require very little setup. Higher payload and vehicles used for towing will require more adjustment.
