Less
of that! | | |
We've
all been there before, juggling a map whilst attempting to drive or on the motorway,
at night, in the fog or pouring rain. You can barely see the car in front, let
alone the exit sign for your junction. The fuel gauge is in the red, and as if
that weren't enough, you see the flashing lights of roadwork's ahead. In traffic
like this, it doesn't really matter what kind of car you drive: you're in it for
the duration. While other drivers might enjoy the opportunity to admire your car,
a stunning exterior isn't going to help you make that all-important appointment.
A stunning interior, on the other hand, just might. |
| | With
one of our satellite navigation systems on board, not only can you set off with
peace of mind, you'll also arrive relaxed and ready for business. Thanks to the
innovative Dynamic Navigation function, you can even cope with unanticipated traffic
congestion en route. Each of our systems can be upgraded to a fully-featured
multimedia system offering everything from CD sound and traffic news to hands-free
telephony and voice guidance. Conrad Anderson will provide a range of multimedia
systems that make every journey a pleasure, no matter what engine you have. |
| How
it works | | The
computer in your navigation system uses signals transmitted from the GPS (Global
Positioning System) satellites orbiting the earth, to determine the exact position
of the car at any time regardless of your location. The integrated gyro (electronic
compass) and electronic speedometer supply additional data which the system uses
to calculate and monitor your route. Simply enter your desired destination and
the system eases you through the traffic with the aid of an icon or map display
with spoken instructions in a pleasant male or female voice. If you do happen
to take a wrong turn, the system reacts immediately to guide you safely back on
course. |
| |
| The
manufacturer includes digital maps from NavTech on its navigation SD cards, offering
comprehensive and detailed mapping information as well as valuable travel information.
In addition to covering most of the road network within Europe (Austria, Belgium,
Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal,
Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland) including the addresses of important destinations
such as airports, railway stations, banks, petrol stations and car parks. We also
provide CD-ROMs with detailed navigation for Australia, Canada and the United
States of America. When
specifiying a destination you can either enter an address directly or call up
an address from the database of hotels, restaurants, museums and other places
of interest. Many of these addresses are illustrated and feature useful information
such as prices, rating and credit card acceptance. |
| Dynamic
Navigation with TMC | | Even
otherwise unforseeable traffic hazards such as detours of congestion won't catch
you out, thanks to the unique new Dynamic Navigation function featured on our
navigation systems. This TMC-enabled function uses up-to-the-minute digital RDS
traffic information supplied by an optional Dynamic Navigation Receiver. The information
is analysed by the navigation computer and used to calculate an alternative route. The
system takes you onto a new route only after you have approved it; you are in
control. All the
navigation systems that Conrad Anderson provide are compatible with traffic information
using RDS-TMC (Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel). You may be familiar
with RDS as the technology that displays the name of the staion your radio is
tuned to. TMC is delivered in exactly the same way, providing coded information
about traffic events and their reported location on the road network. *
We cannot be held responsible for the provision or quality of the broadcast
TMC data. | |
