Sleep
& eat the way you want
The Varta Guide is one of the few independent hotel and restaurant guides in Germany
and the country's top seller. The first printed edition was published in 1957
and was the first guide of its kind for Germany. The Varta Guide is
aimed at people who like travelling and for whom sleeping and eating well is important.
It is also useful as a work of reference for hotels and restaurants, especially
when it comes to saving money by obtaining accurate information, whether used
for business or pleasure. Today, the Varta Guide database is also accessible
via the Internet and is updated on a monthly basis. On the web you can find some
11,610 recommended hotels and restaurants from the printed edition, as well as
detailed information on around another 9,800 establishments in Germany, Switzerland,
Austria and South Tyrol. The experts at the Varta Guide are all chefs
or hotel managers employed full-time by the Guide who benefit from many years
of experience in top positions within the hospitality industry. They always carry
out inspections anonymously and rate performance extremely fairly. Their work
goes on day and night throughout the year. Our employees travel the
length and breadth of Germany, making reservations and paying for all the services
they use. Establishments have no influence over their inclusion in the Varta Guide.
Inclusion and a rating with Varta stars, cutlery symbols, crowns, chef hats and
lilies depend on performance alone. We carefully select a range of establishments
from the many on the market, but the fact that an establishment is not included
does not reflect any judgement on the quality of that establishment. The Varta
stars and cutlery symbols used to classify establishments are merely designed
to highlight good hotels and restaurants. |
