Tripod Mounted Satellite Internet System
Tripod mounted Satellite Internet system:
Offers a fast and reliable high speed internet connection in most european locations. A perfect system for touring customers in areas of Europe where DSL or cable services may be limited or non-existent.
- 79cm or 75cm offset satellite dish (Ku or Ka Band)
- Heavy duty tripod
- Satellite Modem
- 30m Coax cable
- Tripod mounting & fixings
- Basic satellite finder
- Fully tested for Ku & Ka Band dish system
The tripod is available with either Ku or Ka Band satellite equipment, see the product info tab for details and data charges.
The tripod mounted satellite Internet system is a manual search system, available as a Ku band or Ka Band system.
Beyondsl Ku band offers speeds of upto 10Mbps download and 364Kbps upload and offers an uninterupted footprint which covers the whole of western Europe (See footprint map). Point the dish and the internet will flow.
Beyondsl Ka Band offers speeds of upto 20Mbps download and 2Mbps upload and will work in UK, France, Germany, Holland, Belgium, Austria, most of Italy, Western Croatia, most of Czech Republic & Slovakia. The Ka band signal achieves higher speeds through broadcast of multiple spot beams. Moving the data account between spot beams will require a request to the ISP and may incur an admin fee.
Tooway Ka Band offers speeds of 22Mbps download and 6Mbps upload and has spot beam coverage over the whole of Europe. The spot beams are smaller than with Beyondsl so there is potential for more spot beam changes. Tooway equipment costs a little more.
If you need the high upload speed in order to operate online effectively you may need to go for the Ka band option and accept the admin fee. If it is more important to have a system that will work across Europe without admin fees and phone calls to the ISP, then the Ku band system would work better for you.

The pointing of a satellite dish for internet requires a more accurate lock than for just receiving TV. The system is supplied with a training video and instructions to help with setting up and locking on. If you are unsure we can offer in-house training at a cost of £60 per hour.
