The Director of Mobile Entertainment: VDO Dayton TV 5100 TV Receiver Offers
Numerous Multimedia Options (26th April 2002)
VDO Dayton is now making it even easier for car drivers to use numerous multimedia
options. The high-end brand is launching the TV 5100 that, as director of mobile
entertainment, offers much more than just optimum television reception. The TV
5100 also acts as interface for an optional rear view camera or for additional
video inputs.
The centrepiece of the VDO Dayton TV 5100, which is directly connected to the
MS 5000 navigation system, is, of course, the receiver, which always guarantees
the best possible reception of all the regional television transmitters available.
The TV 5100’s four times antenna diversity system ensures much better quality
and also permits the connection of up to four antennae. When travelling in the
shadow of a mountain or under a bridge, an intelligent electronics system then
switches to the antenna with the strongest reception and thus effectively prevents
annoying interference to the picture or sound. In addition, the TV 5100 is a quarter
of the size of its predecessor, as well as being an intelligent portal to other
multimedia applications. The receiver is the only device on the market to offer
an interface for the direct integration of a rear view camera, such as the VDO
Dayton RV 5100. In
addition, a second video input permits the connection of an external VHS or DVD
player, a handycam or playstation. The second output can be used to add-on another
monitor. True to the VDO Dayton philosophy of the modular design of the multimedia
range, the TV 5100 can also be operated without navigation system. In this case,
all the customer needs is a monitor such as the MM 5000 and the new MI 2100 supply
unit, which connects the monitor to the power supply and processes the video signals.
The system can be extended to include a rear view camera and other video modules
on request. |
