VDO Dayton adds black spot warnings for its sat navs VDO is the first
on-board navigation system to offer an optional accident black spot and fixed
camera information service at less than £15 a year. As a special offer,
the first year is free to all drivers buying one of the latest range of sat nav
systems before 2005. Prices start from as little as £599.99 for a monochrome
in-dash unit. As
a speedcam/black spot location is approached, a safety warning display appears
on the screen within 300 metres in open road conditions. It features a large speed
limit figure with a red background to alert the driver to the legal maximum allowed
in the immediate area. It displays the speed limit of the road and gives an audible
alert chime*. - The
traffic black spot warnings are only a small part of VDO Daytons list of
services available from their DVDs and CDs with C-IQ Intelligent Content
on Demand. The user can pick and choose from a number of different packages, only
paying for what is required, including:

Activation
of all the C-IQ services is easy. It can be done via the internet, by telephoning
the C-IQ Service Centre, or directly through a dealer. Another
unique service with C-IQ from VDO Dayton is if a DVD/CD map becomes damaged, a
free of charge replacement can be provided. *
VDO Dayton point out that all the information provided to the user is always secondary
