Solar Panels
Solar Panels are an excellent addition to smaller power systems for essentially ‘free power’ i.e. no fuel expenditure, they are automatic and maintenance free (apart from checking the vehicle electrics every year).

The obvious draw back to a solar panel is the weather issue; they only work effectively in bright conditions (some are better that others depending on the technology they use). So if you spend your time in South of France and Spain they are a very good option, or if you use very little power and are happy starting the engine to boost your batteries every now and again.
