Access code When content has been ordered, the C-IQ Service Centre automatically
sends the access code for activation, either via the Internet or by SMS to the
user's mobile phone. Aluminium
Cone Subwoofer diaphragm made of pure aluminium. Aluminium subwoofers
are particularly lightweight and rigid, guaranteeing a dry and powerful bass sound
with no distortion. Anti-Shock
Memory, 2.8 seconds Digital cache memory ensuring maximum enjoyment of
your CDs, even on the toughest of road surfaces. Anti-vibration
mechanism CD-Changer feature which ensures that the highly sensitive
CD mechanism functions properly in all road conditions. Also offers optimum protection
for CDs and CD-Changer. Auto
Equalizer Analyses the acoustic characteristics inside your car and calibrates
audio output to match. Bass, treble and the DSP Sound Presets can then be set
to your own individual preferences. Auto
Leveler Ensures a constant volume level when switching between different
audio sources, automatically compensating for discrepancies and obviating the
need for manual adjustment. Automatic
display brightness control Brightness is adjusted to suit ambient light
conditions by means of a photoelectric cell integrated into the display. |

CD
Text Function available on CD players that allows CD data (artist, title,
etc.) to be displayed, if the CD contains this information. CD-ROM
Compact Disc Read-Only Memory (e.g. for digital maps). Data cannot be
written to or deleted from a CD-ROM. Chromium
electroplated coating The speaker diaphragm is coated with a chromium
layer to create a uniform surface finish and thus a more precise, more homogenous
sound.
Confirmation
code This code is displayed by the navigation system when an access
code is returned. It must be forwarded to VDO Dayton to complete the cancellation
process. (Þ revocations code)

Data
protection When developing C-IQ, special attention was paid to ensuring
compliance with all legal requirements regarding the confidentiality of customer
data. DAB
Digital Audio Broadcasting is a digital method of transmitting significantly
larger quantities of data to radio receivers than is possible with conventional
analogue signals. Digital
CD-Changer Input Sound signals from the CD-Changers are transmitted in
digital form and processed by the Digital Sound Processor without the need for
digital/analogue conversion. Digital
Output The digital sound signal is transmitted directly to the audio
system's central processor without the need for digital/analogue conversion. Digital
RDS-Tuner Digital tuner offering a wealth of user functions. Digital
Sound Processor The heart of the digital concept from VDO Dayton. Just
like a PC, VDO Dayton audio systems process all signals in purely digital form,
from the tuner through the cassette and CD drives to preamp out. Dolby
Technology developed to reduce noise and enhance the dynamic range on cassette
tapes. DVD
- Digital Versatile Disc 12.5 cm digital data carrier with optical read-out.
Providing a capacity of 4.7 gigabytes, a DVD can store about seven times more
data on the same surface than a CD-ROM.
Dynamic Navigation with TMC Even otherwise unforeseeable traffic hazards
such as detours or congestion won't catch you out, thanks to the unique new Dynamic
Navigation function. This TMC-enabled function uses up-to-the-minute digital RDS
traffic information supplied by an optional Dynamic Navigation Receiver. The information
is analysed by the navigation computer and used to calculate an alternative route. |

GPS
Global Positioning System. System used to determine the receiver's position
on the Earth's surface using information transmitted from the 24 GPS satellites
currently orbiting the globe. GSM
Global System for Mobile Communications and digital transmission and
receiving equipment. GSM
handsfree telephone Optional handsfree telephone kit. Makes for safer
and more convenient use of a car telephone.
Guided tour Using the motto "Three Steps to Success", this tour shows
your customers how easy it is to register and activate content with a few mouse
clicks. Gyroscope
Non-magnetic,
electronic gyrocompass used to determine the exact angle of rotation. |

| H |
|
High
Level Input Input used to connect a car radio directly to an amplifier
if the radio is not equipped with a pre-amp out or line out. High-Pass
Filter Midrange/tweeter filter offering seamless crossover between midrange/tweeter
systems and subwoofer. |

IMPP
Cone Injection-moulded
polypropylene diaphragms offer greater precision than conventional diaphragms.
Polypropylene is an extremely stable material making it ideal for speaker cone
applications. Extremely fine tolerances offer outstanding precision and responsiveness. Intelligent
destination input When a letter is entered, the system will only illuminate
those subsequent letters that match an existing record. If multiple instances
exist for a particular name, all alternatives will be displayed. |
